Skill 26A Weight: Pounds Here, we want to determine if your student has a basic understanding of the actual weight of one pound. This is done by observing common things in a child's environment and saying whether they do, or do not, weigh more than one pound. At some point, your student should have held something in his/her hand that did in fact weigh one pound. This experience can then be used as a reference for the child's future estimations. Also, if the skill is truly mastered, there should be very little hesitation in answering.
Let's practice with the weight
of things you know using pounds. |
